Yeah i know, not another masterpiece and no naked women Just furry stuffThis painting is done for a modest Dutch nature magazine
made by volunteers.
Sorex araneus has a tricolored coat. The ventral side is grayish, and the dorsal side varies in color from black to reddish brown. Its flanks are nut brown. Its tail is brown on the dorsal side, and gray ventrally. It has small eyes and it ears are hidden in fur. It has red-tipped teeth.

I don't know about the background, because it seems to attract the attention to the worm, not the mouse itself.
other than that no crits.
What magazine did you make this for, and did you use any photo reference something?

@Marleen i’ve uploaded the ref. pic To make the fur and the worm looked like a real challenge to me I used a freeware brush “NagelSeries36” from http://photoshop.digitalmedianet.com/ which makes I fairly easy . Just play around with the settings.

the brush work on the fur is absolutely awesome. the minute attention youve given to such an important aspect of the rodent really brings this thing out. excellent work
im not happy with the background colour, but apart from that its a really nice piece.
